Memories Reloded

On my previous blog’s comment, I received a request from my very dear friend – Kaushik Kalathiya that I should write something on the pranks we played in our school days. So KAUSHIK, this is for you!!

First, let me introduce him: fat and clumsy body, very funny guy, every time passing comments that makes everyone laugh, a diplomatic person I would say. Very passionate about his hair style, always trying new looks with different hair gels and end up asking me in the school – “Pratik, how’s this style”. I never disappointed him…. J as far as studies are concerned, very hardworking fellow, but did not know smart work and because of which he is not able to score well till today.

So Kaushik, this will remind u something, have a look …….

“Sheet, clean up this mess immediately” - Jignesh shouted
“Here is the broom, Anita, clean it, I’ll keep a watch in the corridor” – I said

It was Sardar Patel School. 11th commerce class. The highest rated classroom as a notorious class. We were playing volleyball in the classroom……….. jaky’s punch on the ball led to breaking of a tube light.

Now, everyone, for a second was shocked and nobody moved for a while. White glasses scatted all around the classroom. With god’s grace nobody was hurt.

Jignesh immediately went to another empty class room to get a tube.

I went to get the broom, and handed over to Anita.

Anita, my classmate, started to sweep the classroom

I and kaushik kept a watch on the corridor, so that we could signal if anybody comes.

Jaky and Sachin brought newspaper so that glasses could be wrapped in it and disposed off safely and SECRETLY.

Jignesh brought a new tube from an empty class room and was fixed in the fixture. After this whole mess was finished, I can bet, nobody could recognize that a tube light had been broken here in the near past.

The task was accomplished within approx. 6 mins. A perfect example of team work, a perfect example of MANAGEMENT. Everyone was working on their own, not a single guy was suggested to do any work.
Effective Management always demands team work, loyalty, trust, and effective communication (includes secret information also).

We had practically implemented MANAGEMENT unknowingly, and theory I learned in graduation J

New phase of Life

16th July 2008. It was my 12th commerce result and I scored 70%, to be precise 68%. The options were BBA, BCA, CA and CS for my further studies.

Doing any kind of money minting business was always a passion for me. But, my father wanted to add ‘MBA’ as a prefix of my name. So, let me fulfil my father’s dream and rest of the life I’ll fulfil my dream.

Reading the newspapers and all, I thought MBAs are good always salaried persons so let’s do it.
7th may 2011.My BBA graduation was over now and I am stamped graduated with first class result with 70%; to be precise 73%…….yippee!!!!

Now I will have the privilege to write ‘PRATIK VAGHANI (BBA – FIRST CLASS)’ in my mirage invitation card, and some other benefits in my town like – I’ll have a sexy girl to marry; people are talking to me with great pleasure, always welcoming and greeting me.

I am well honoured in my town and people respect me because of my DEGREE and not because of me. I am and I was always the same, I never change, but I increased my values because I increased my degrees. Other children might be intelligent then me, but they don’t have any value because they don’t have any degree.

I hold a graduation degree. But, when I question to my self – ‘what have I learned OR what have I done OR have I done anything new in 3 years of my graduation?!?!?’ the answer is probably - NOTHING.

The full name of BBA is ‘Bachelors of Business and Administration’. But I don’t think I am still eligible to commence a business or even manage it, and I can bet, not a single student of my batch can do it…… huh !!!

So my journey towards MBA (Masters in Business Administration) has started. Let’s wait and watch, what does life has to give me…..
“Yesterday was a history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a GIFT, so it is called PRESENT”

Management - ART & SCIENCE

I still remember my first lecture of subject “Management” in my college - “The. K.P.E.S College”.
He (Sorry, I can’t expose his name) started the lecture with the above boring phrase. “Management is an art and Science, it is an art because …... and it is a science because ………..” after that I could not make out a single sentence what was he trying to convey.
He read out the some pages from a book and announced that the topic was over.
I think he was getting 100 to 200 rupees per hour to deliver a lecture, and not to read lecture.
I can bet, he does not know relation between management and art- science.
I am explaining it……I learned this topic from my face book friend – Harry bell, studying in Cambridge B-School
Newton’s third law says – “every action has equal and opposite reaction”. This same scientific principle can be applied in the field of management also. For instance: taking decision has a reaction, scolding or talking to employee has a reaction, increasing a price has a reaction, budget has a reaction on business, terrorist attack has a reaction, strike has a reaction on business…..and so on….
Same ways there are many scientific principles that work on the management, and therefor management is also known as science.
When I tell management is an art, it reminds me of a case study that Harry mailed me…..
A soap production company received a complaint from retailer that a lot did not have soaps; it was only empty wrappers in a carton delivered to the retailer. The company checked the whole batch and encountered that; entire batch was delivered in the market only with empty wrappers.
The company suffered a heavy loss, not only financially but also reputation, supply chain was in a mess. (This is also a reaction)
The company called the meeting of all the technical engineers and after a research, a scanner machine was been developed that was fixed above the rolling belt that scans the packet and if it is empty, the scanner would beep an alarm.
A good solution, but expensive and lethargic……
The same problem occurred in other company. They also founded, a whole batch been delivered to the market with just empty wrappers in the carton, and no soap.
The solution adopted by this company was quick, easy and cheap.
A table fan was been place against the rolling belt that enables easy throwing away of the light weighted wrappers that did not have soap in them and prevents the empty wrappers to fill the carton.

So here is the art of management. I don’t think, the manager has read this solution in any of the books of management. But application of the principles of management or science is an ART.
The problem is not with the system or syllabus, but the problem is the quality faculties and quality teaching. If that faculty had explained both theories with some relevant examples, it will not only help to score university ranks but also learn the APPLICATION OF MANAGEMENT.

Motivation lectures only upto fifteen

It has been 20 years 5 months and 1 day I Came on this earth.I have read all most all motivational books on self developmet. Today I had 3 visitnig faculties lectures on motivation. All of them read book like - The Secret, Think and Grow Rich, Power of Positive thinking etc., and all of them said all the points from that books itself. It was like puking out the topics they had not digested. There was nothing new in the any of the lecture, and going on saying the same think of positive thinking, positive attidudes and la bla bla..........so this lectures should only be up to 15 years only, after than no motivation.....only logical and commen sence which is uncommon

The valentine day ---- but the worst start of the day, did not even talked with girls even on the presious day. I don't have girl frinds nor am I intrested in making girlfriends, but everything seems unending without girls, they don't have brain but a good heart. It seems goog to talk with them rather than talking with boys..........

happy velentine day

"Ultimate" Replacing "Perfect'

"Practice makes man PERFECT"

but not according to me, and as a part of change it poverb should be extended to "PERFECTION makes man ULTIMATE"

I got thos word ULTIMATE from Bill Gates - Microsoft Vista "Ultimate", Microsoft Windows 7 "Ultimate", I loved the design that has been done in the operating systems, means everything is perfect in the operating systems....there might be some loop wholes in the systems but thatz ok for ny local users like me. looking at the operating systems it seems it is more than perfect thatz the reason it has been named as the "ULTIMATE" ........ so friends in life, try to become ultimate rather becoming perfect.........

thank you
